He noted that the $51.7 billion figure was made possible by the creation of 26,000 trading pairs.<\/p>\n<p>Not all users welcomed such math. Some Twitter regulars noted that part of the volumes could have arisen from darknet marketplaces, money laundering by criminals and other similar practices. At the end of August, the daily turnover of the leading DEX <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-trading-volume-surpasses-coinbases-figure\">surpassed<\/a> Coinbase&#8217;s figure.<\/p>\n<p>In those days, Uniswap <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-leads-defi-as-sushiswap-hype-fuels-rally\">held<\/a> first place in DeFi Pulse&#8217;s ranking.
