{"id":33287,"date":"2020-12-13T12:23:18","date_gmt":"2020-12-13T10:23:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=33287"},"modified":"2025-08-28T13:04:56","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T10:04:56","slug":"top-twitch-executive-allocates-a-quarter-of-his-portfolio-to-bitcoin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/top-twitch-executive-allocates-a-quarter-of-his-portfolio-to-bitcoin\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Twitch executive allocates a quarter of his portfolio to Bitcoin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The director of products, mobile games and emerging markets for the streaming service Twitch, Shaan Puri, diversified his own investment portfolio by allocating 25% of his funds to Bitcoin.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Puri, who previously served as CEO of the social network Bebo, wrote on Twitter:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I have moved 25% into Bitcoin \ud83c\udf1d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shaan Puri (@ShaanVP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShaanVP\/status\/1336906499369496576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 10, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>One user asked what prompted Puri to take this step, noting that 25% is a fairly large bet.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I think this is a rare opportunity to get ahead of the wave of institutional capital that will come into Bitcoin over the next two years,&#8221; the entrepreneur replied.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that the current bull run of the first cryptocurrency differs in many respects from 2017.<\/p>\n<p>From 2017 to 2019, Shaan Puri served as CEO of the now-defunct social network Bebo.
