He previously led Starling Bank and served as an adviser to other banks.<\/p>\n<p>Bitstamp expects Sawyer&#8217;s experience to help the exchange reach a new level.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHe understands the opportunities that cryptocurrency affords the world and how to integrate it with existing financial structures,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kodri\u010d remains on the trading platform&#8217;s board of directors.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/exchanges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">CoinGecko<\/a>, at the time of writing Bitstamp ranks eighth among the largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
