He did not rule out that, in the future, assets could be more open and cheaper to use.<\/p>\n<p>He compared their emergence to HTML5, the programming language that replaced HTML4.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBut this will be good for the industry,\u201d Zhao said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Some media outlets interpreted his words as seeing a threat to Bitcoin from CBDCs. He urged the community to \u201cbe more careful\u201d and called the pursuit of the exchange \u201ca worrying sign\u201d for the Bitcoin industry.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-commissioner-hester-peirce-bitmex-case-signals-the-entire-bitcoin-industry\">expressed<\/a> a similar view. According to her, the charges against BitMEX are a \u201cloud and clear signal\u201d to the industry about the need to comply with regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The Bahamas <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bahamas-rolls-out-sovereign-digital-currency\">issued<\/a> the first sovereign digital currency.
