A resident of the Ulyanovsk region became a victim of scammers who demanded money from her, promising earnings in cryptocurrency. This was reported by the local police.<\/p>\n
The victim saw an advertisement for profitable cryptocurrency trading on the internet. She paid $250 to open a personal account on the platform’s site.<\/p>\n
To create the appearance of successful trading, the criminals “increased” the client’s balance by amounts up to $15. While in constant dialogue with the victim, they demanded payments for opening a crypto wallet and funding it, income tax, and insurance allegedly for withdrawing the funds.<\/p>\n
The victim borrowed money from a bank and from friends, and each time deposited 36,000 to 64,000 rubles.<\/p>\n
In total, from July to October 2020, she transferred 1.2 million rubles to the scammers.<\/p>\n
The police are now seeking the suspects.<\/p>\n
