This is according to data from analytics firm <a href=\\\"https:\/\/studio.glassnode.com\/metrics?a=ETH&#038;m=supply.HodlWaves\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener noreferrer\\\">Glassnode<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>EthHub founder Anthony Sassano wondered how this ratio would change with the advent of staking, which is planned in Ethereum 2.0 with the transition to the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">~60% of all ETH hasn\u2019t moved in 1+ years.<\/p>\n<p>With eth2 phase 0 approaching, it\u2019ll be interesting to see how much this percentage comes down by as Ethereum OG\u2019s move their stash into staking.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m particularly curious to see if any of the coins in the 5+ years category move \ud83d\udc40 <a href=\\\"https:\/\/t.co\/9H38dYAHDq\\\">pic.twitter.com\/9H38dYAHDq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Anthony Sassano | sassal.eth \u26fd \ud83c\udff4 (@sassal0x) <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sassal0x\/status\/1316345694597259264?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">October 14, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\\\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\\\" charset=\\\"utf-8\\\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Glassnode data point to a rise in the number of long-term Ethereum holders since the start of the bear market in 2018. Most of them did not capitulate during periods when the price fell below $100 in December 2018 and in March 2020. Around 28% of the coins last moved one to two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Sassano is most interested in how ETH2 staking will affect holders of coins that have not moved for more than five years.<\/p>\n<p>On 12 October, developers <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/a-step-closer-to-ethereum-2-0-as-developers-launch-final-zinken-testnet\">launched<\/a> the final testnet Zinken ahead of the transition to Phase 0 of ETH2. It served as the dress rehearsal for the creation of the Ethereum 2.0 genesis block.
