The team created the OVM (<a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/plasma-group\/introducing-the-ovm-db253287af50\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Optimistic Virtual Machine<\/a>) \u2014 a solution designed to support all Ethereum-based Layer-2 protocols.<\/p>\n<p>Coinbase \u2014 the second-largest centralized exchange after Bitfinex, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/tether-integrates-into-ethereum-sidechain-with-thousands-of-tps\">announced<\/a> plans to move some of its transactions off the main Ethereum blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>Bitfinex is in the process of integrating OMG Network, based on More Viable Plasma (MoreVP) specifications. Plasma is another concept for increasing Ethereum throughput by creating an additional Layer-2 network.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/buterin-says-eth-transaction-costs-reflect-a-supply-and-demand-equilibrium\">stated<\/a> that only moving to Layer-2 solutions will create the prerequisites for lowering transaction costs.<\/p>\n<p>On September 2, the average transaction fee in the Ethereum network <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-average-transaction-fees-exceed-10-as-price-hits-470\">surpassed<\/a> the previous all-time high at the $10 mark, rising to $15.21. On October 15, the metric <a href=\"https:\/\/blockchair.com\/ethereum\/charts\/average-transaction-fee-usd?interval=3m\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fell<\/a> to $1.57<\/p>\n<p>On October 14, the decentralized derivatives platform Synthetix announced the transition to the second phase of Optimistic Rollup integration.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The good folks over at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CoinbaseWallet?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CoinbaseWallet<\/a> have added support for Synthetix on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/optimismPBC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@optimismPBC<\/a>\u2018s L2 Optimistic Ethereum for Android and iOS! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tCJJJAMVzW\">https:\/\/t.co\/tCJJJAMVzW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Synthetix \u2694\ufe0f (@synthetix_io) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/synthetix_io\/status\/1316218832365600768?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 14, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Serum decentralized exchange on the Solana blockchain has also <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ftx-launches-srm-staking-on-serum-the-solana-based-non-custodial-exchange\">integrated<\/a> Optimistic Rollup.
