If you\u2019re interested in building trust in blockchains to promote more financial freedom with less risk, join us! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VHYrFutugR\">https:\/\/t.co\/VHYrFutugR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chainalysis (@chainalysis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chainalysis\/status\/1316000656688283648?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 13, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The metric also included the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/irs-to-task-chainalysis-with-tracking-monero-transactions\">contract<\/a> to track transactions on the Monero (XRM) network with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year the company&#8217;s client base grew by 65%.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/billybambrough\/2020\/10\/13\/chainalysis-reveals-huge-growth-in-government-bitcoin-crypto-and-blockchain-interest-makes-dire-monero-warning\/#3bfe05e55a8d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forbes<\/a>, Chainalysis chief Michael Gronager noted that securing contracts with government agencies creates the foundations for growth in the private sector in the cryptocurrency space.<\/p>\n<p>Gronager argues that the company he leads plays a critical role in developing the nascent industry, providing a channel for dialogue with law enforcement and regulators.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe incident with the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/17-year-old-twitter-hacker-charged-with-30-counts\">arrest of the Twitter hacker<\/a> proved a useful illustration of blockchain analytics in law enforcement. Companies in the industry now have an understanding of how to ensure compliance with requirements and regulatory oversight\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Gronager believes that privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, despite their promising technology, attract insufficient attention to become successful.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPrivate coins require liquidity and a large number of people who will begin to use them. Their use cases are better suited for Bitcoin, since it has liquidity\u201d, Gronager says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Chainalysis chief is convinced that Monero (XMR) and ZCash (ZEC) will remain niche stories that criminals will not use at scale.
