Applications for one of the 50,000 \u201cred envelopes\u201d were submitted by 1,913,847 people, according to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/money\/shenzhens-2m-digital-currency-lottery-attracts-2-million-hopefuls\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener noreferrer\\\">AsiaOne<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>The lottery winners received 200 yuan each (~$29.5), which must be spent at 3,389 locations by October 18.
