This was reported by <\/span><a href=\\\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Technology\/wireStory\/french-arrest-29-cryptcurrency-scheme-finance-jihadis-73315042\\\"><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">ABC News<\/span><\/a><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">According to authorities, the scheme had been active since 2019. Funds were mainly transmitted through cryptocurrency vouchers purchased in France.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">Such vouchers, ranging from \u20ac10 to \u20ac150, were regularly purchased by dozens of people, the French prosecutor&#8217;s office noted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">The vouchers were then transmitted via encrypted messages to terrorists in Syria, where they withdrew funds through cryptocurrency platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">It is believed that hundreds of thousands of euros were transferred to the terrorists through this scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">As part of the operation, 29 possible members of the network were detained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">Two suspects in organizing the scheme were not arrested.
