Egor Igorevich Kriuchkov\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/473938345\/content?start_page=1&#038;view_mode=scroll&#038;access_key=key-WTIq632Qugpn1a2k6jSv\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" data-auto-height=\"false\" data-aspect-ratio=\"0.7729220222793488\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to the charging documents, Egor Igorevich Kriuchkov planned to exfiltrate the company&#8217;s data and, under the threat of its publication, would demand a ransom.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian national entered the United States on a visitor visa and, between July 15 and August 22, attempted to conspire with a Nevada-based company employee.<\/p>\n<p>According to law enforcement, Kriuchkov told him that he belonged to a major organisation but did not specify which one.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly offered the employee 1 BTC as a down payment, as well as assistance in creating a Bitcoin wallet on the Tor network.<\/p>\n<p>Although the court documents do not disclose the name of the company Kriuchkov allegedly planned to attack, it could be Tesla&#8217;s Nevada plant.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Teslarati portal wrote about this. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-employee-fbi-thwarts-russian-cybersecurity-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teslarati<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. According to the article, the employee whom Krichkov attempted to bribe refused the money and contacted the FBI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tesla chief Elon Musk responded to the article. He said he was &#8220;very grateful,&#8221; as it was a &#8220;serious attack&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Much appreciated.
