A full rollout of Sand Dollar is planned for the fourth quarter of this year.<\/p>\n<p>News of CBDC testing at the Bahamas central bank was announced in late 2019.<\/p>\n<p>According to Neha Narula, director of MIT\u2019s initiative focused on digital currencies, it was Bitcoin that spurred research and development in CBDCs.
