A total of <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/5402350-conservatives-procedural-vote-crypto-revolt\/\">196 members<\/a> voted in favor, while 223 opposed.<\/p>\n<p>This week, during the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/us-lawmakers-to-host-crypto-week\">crypto week<\/a>,&#8221; three bills were set for consideration:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/implications-of-the-us-stablecoin-legislation-expert-opinions\">GENIUS Act<\/a> \u2014 establishes rules for stablecoins;<\/li>\n<li>CLARITY Act \u2014 creates a regulatory framework for the entire crypto sector;<\/li>\n<li>Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act \u2014 prohibits the <span data-descr=\"Federal Reserve System of the United States\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Federal Reserve<\/span> from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) for private individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The GENIUS Act has already been approved by the Senate. The document mandates full backing of stablecoins with US dollars or equivalent assets, requires audits for issuers with a capitalization exceeding $50 billion, and sets requirements for issuing such assets abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The CLARITY Act allocates regulatory powers between the <span data-descr=\"US Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> and the <span data-descr=\"US Commodity Futures Trading Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CFTC<\/span> in overseeing crypto assets. The bill also requires companies to disclose information to retail clients and to separate client funds from their own assets.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve Republicans opposed the bills, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, Chip Roy, Michael Cloud, and Anna Paulina Luna.<\/p>\n<p>Greene wrote on X that she voted against the GENIUS Act due to its stance on CBDCs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I just voted NO on the Rule for the GENIUS Act because it does not include a ban on Central Bank Digital Currency and because Speaker Johnson did not allow us to submit amendments to the GENIUS Act.<\/p>\n<p>Americans do not want a government-controlled Central Bank Digital Currency.\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NnkeIOH0dE\">pic.twitter.com\/NnkeIOH0dE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. All participants agreed to vote for the document.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/114860136006223294\/embed\" class=\"truthsocial-embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><script src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/embed.js\" async=\"async\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;After a brief discussion, they agreed to vote in favor of the rule tomorrow morning,&#8221; the president wrote on Truth Social.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump also spoke with House Speaker Mike Johnson, who promised to hold the vote &#8220;as soon as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Following the announcement, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.majorityleader.gov\/schedule\/default.aspx\">published<\/a> a new session schedule. Consideration of the laws will begin on July 16.<\/p>\n<p>Back in June, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/fed-chair-backs-stablecoin-regulation-in-the-us\">supported<\/a> the regulation of stablecoins in the US.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The US House of Representatives has rejected three cryptocurrency-related bills.
