He cited issues such as single-slot finality, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-proposes-shifting-ethereums-architecture-to-risc-v\">virtual machine<\/a>, statelessness, security, reliability, and decentralization as examples.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Ethereum founder will also concentrate on <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-declares-privacy-the-foundation-of-freedom\">privacy<\/a>, communication tools, information dissemination, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-highlights-core-issue-in-ethereum-applications\">social layer<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>better encryption of messages and documents;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/buterin-backs-polymarkets-controversial-betting-section\">prediction markets<\/a> and similar technologies;<\/li>\n<li>new types of communication tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Specifically, he mentioned the development of governance mechanisms, funding for <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-advocates-for-open-source-over-public-goods\">public goods and open-source products<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Buterin also plans to devote time to hardware and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/distributed-energy-and-a-global-geodetic-network-what-lies-ahead-for-depin-in-2025\">physical infrastructure<\/a>, cryptography, operating systems, and protection against biological threats.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, he identified areas where he plans to reduce his involvement, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the practical side of scaling in the short term, including <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-advocates-for-increasing-ethereums-gas-limit\">increasing the gas limit in L1<\/a> during 2026;<\/li>\n<li>P2P, block structure, and other research;<\/li>\n<li>many issues of the Ethereum Foundation;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;proven&#8221; application-level categories (DeFi, payments, savings).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In Buterin&#8217;s view, these areas are no less important, but there are others who are deeply knowledgeable in these matters.<\/p>\n<p>In April, the Ethereum Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-foundation-shifts-focus-to-l1-scaling-and-user-experience-enhancement\">announced<\/a> a shift in focus towards user experience and L1 scaling issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2025, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin will focus on developing the core infrastructure of the network and promoting decentralized ecosystems.
