This includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>drainer infrastructure with a control panel;<\/li>\n<li>a rented domain;<\/li>\n<li>technical solutions for concealing online activity;<\/li>\n<li>documents for passing <span data-descr=\"know your customer\" class=\"old_tooltip\">KYC<\/span> procedures;<\/li>\n<li>hacked or new accounts on social platforms like Telegram, Discord, and X.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Malware developers in this scheme benefit from expanding their client base and virtual community.<\/p>\n<p>Entering the world of crypto fraud once required considerable technical knowledge, commented AMLBot CEO Slava Demchuk to <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-drainers-sold-as-malware-at-it-conferences\">Cointelegraph<\/a>. Within the DaaS framework, &#8220;starting is only slightly more complex than in other types of cybercrime,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Drainer operators seek clients through phishing-oriented groups on social networks, both on the open internet and the dark web.<\/p>\n<p>According to Demchuk, some developers have become so &#8220;bold&#8221; that they set up official booths at industry conferences like CryptoGrab.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the crypto industry suffered losses of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/chainalysis-reports-crypto-fraud-losses-reach-9-9-billion-in-2024\">at least $9.9 billion<\/a> due to fraud, according to Chainalysis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The shift by developers of cryptocurrency theft malware\u2014known as drainers\u2014to a Drainer-as-a-Service (DaaS) model, akin to SaaS, has significantly simplified access to and use of the software.
