This was stated by its co-director, Tomasz Sta\u0144czak.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Our discussions about the Layer 1 scaling roadmap have been extensive, and the feedback so far suggests that the community appreciates our ambition. Turning that ambition into reality now depends on the focus of the core development teams and researchers.<\/p>\n<p>Following the recent\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tomasz K. Sta\u0144czak (@tkstanczak) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tkstanczak\/status\/1914092488396091444?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 20, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to him, the aim of these changes is to provide Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin with more time for research and exploration, rather than dealing with daily tasks and crisis management.<\/p>\n<p>On March 1, Xiao-Wei Wang and Sta\u0144czak became the new co-executive directors of EF. The former has worked with the organization for seven years as a researcher and contributed to the development of the Beacon Chain. The latter is the founder of the Nethermind project and one of the early members of the Flashbots team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On February 25, former EF CEO Aya Miyaguchi <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ethereum.org\/2025\/02\/25\/aya-announcement\">announced<\/a> her transition to the role of president.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sta\u0144czak noted that Buterin&#8217;s recent posts have advanced promising directions and helped realign the community around the core values of the organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cEvery time Vitalik shares ideas or points a direction, he accelerates major long-term breakthroughs,\u201d<\/em> the specialist wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On April 11, Ethereum&#8217;s co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-highlights-core-issue-in-ethereum-applications\">introduced<\/a> a privacy roadmap for the network. In it, Buterin proposed creating default built-in features that anonymize user transactions.<\/p>\n<p>On April 20, the developer <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-proposes-shifting-ethereums-architecture-to-risc-v\">published<\/a> his thoughts on transitioning the Ethereum Virtual Machine to an open RISC-V architecture. The goal is to enhance the efficiency and speed of the network&#8217;s execution layer.<\/p>\n<p>Sta\u0144czak noted that while Buterin&#8217;s proposals \u201cwill always carry weight,\u201d they should initiate discussions and stimulate progress in various research areas. According to the co-leader, the community can either refine or reject these ideas.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sta\u0144czak, the Ethereum Foundation will shift its focus to \u201cnear-term\u201d goals, including addressing UX and scaling issues in upcoming protocol updates <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/pectra-steering-ethereum-toward-scale-and-mass-adoption\">Pectra<\/a>, Fusaka, and Glamsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Uniswap founder Hayden Adams <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-ceo-advocates-for-prioritizing-l2-in-ethereum-scaling\">urged<\/a> Ethereum developers not to change the course of recent years and to prioritize Layer 2 networks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in February, the Ethereum team <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-consider-accelerating-network-upgrades\">discussed accelerating<\/a> network hard forks.
