A transaction cannot be rejected or its legal force disputed solely because it involves cryptocurrencies,&#8221;<\/em> the document states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Digital Asset Freedom Act outlines the criteria digital assets must meet to gain such status:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>market capitalization of at least $750 billion;<\/li>\n<li>daily trading volume exceeding $10 billion;<\/li>\n<li>trading on the open market for at least ten years;<\/li>\n<li>proven security and resistance to censorship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The document emphasizes decentralization: digital assets must be launched fairly, without pre-mining, insider distributions, or control by centralized entities, and must not depend on a single entity or small group of stakeholders for operation and governance.<\/p>\n<p>No specific examples of cryptocurrencies meeting these standards are provided.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New Hampshire<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On April 10, the New Hampshire House of Representatives approved the Bitcoin Reserve Bill (SBR) with 192 votes in favor and 179 against.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1478\" height=\"831\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_6YHln7DHp8?list=PLfTxvjbRJcUIgmu5IQg0p48Fc4OefM-fZ\" title=\"House Session (04\/10\/2025)\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>If approved by the Senate and governor, the document <a href=\"https:\/\/gc.nh.gov\/bill_status\/legacy\/bs2016\/billText.aspx?sy=2025&#038;id=707&#038;txtFormat=html\">would allow<\/a> the treasurer to allocate up to 5% of the general and other authorized funds for investments in precious metals and certain digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>The bill also establishes the procedure for their storage.<\/p>\n<p>As of the end of 2024, the <span data-descr=\"assets under management\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AUM<\/span> of New Hampshire&#8217;s general fund <a href=\"https:\/\/gc.nh.gov\/bill_status\/legacy\/bs2016\/billText.aspx?sy=2025&#038;id=707&#038;txtFormat=html\">stood at $3.6 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The bill specifies that investments can only be made in cryptocurrencies with a capitalization exceeding $500 billion. The document must pass through three committees before reaching the state&#8217;s House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the U.S. Congress <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/congress-urges-halt-to-bitcoin-reserve-plan\">called<\/a> for the plan to create a Bitcoin reserve to be scrapped. Shortly before, an initiative emerged that <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/us-lawmakers-to-introduce-bill-safeguarding-bitcoin-reserve\">would protect SBR from cancellation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As reported in K33 Research, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/k33-describes-us-bitcoin-reserve-as-a-strategic-move\">the push<\/a> to establish an SBR reflects serious governmental intentions regarding digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>On March 11, Cynthia Lummis <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cynthia-lummis-unveils-revised-bitcoin-reserve-legislation\">introduced<\/a> an updated Bitcoin Act in the U.S. Senate, which would allow the government to hold more than 1 million BTC as part of a crypto reserve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>North Carolina legislators proposed using Bitcoin as a means of payment.
