Austraian entrepreneur Craig Wright refused to prove he had created bitcoin.\u00c2\u00a0All previous posts from his blog have been deleted<\/a> today, and now it has only one message of apology.<\/p>\n

“I believed that I could do this. I believed that I could put the years of anonymity and hiding behind me. But, as the events of this week unfolded and I prepared to publish the proof of access to the earliest keys, I broke. I do not have the courage. I cannot,” the blog reads.<\/p>\n

Wright acknowledged that his statements could affect people who had supported his claims earlier, namely Jon Matonis and Gavin Andresen.<\/p>\n

“I can only hope that their honour and credibility is not irreparably tainted by my actions. They were not deceived, but I know that the world will never believe that now. I can only say I’m sorry,” Wright added.<\/p>\n

Jon Matonis reacted to Wright’s breakdown in a tweet:<\/p>\n
