The state&#8217;s Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/le.utah.gov\/mtgvotes.jsp?voteid=36093\">approved<\/a> a similar document on February 20. The bill will now undergo second and third readings before a final Senate vote.<\/p>\n<p>In 18 states, similar initiatives await voting. Arizona and Utah are already in the final stages of approval.<\/p>\n<p>The bill, supported by the upper chamber of Arizona&#8217;s Congress, limits the amount the Treasury can invest in a single operation. This was one of the politician&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/donald-trump-becomes-47th-president-of-the-united-states-implications-for-the-crypto-industry\">campaign promises<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The head of state <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/white-house-working-group-to-assess-a-national-crypto-reserve\">established a task force<\/a> on digital asset markets led by <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/trump-nominates-david-sacks-as-crypto-czar\">&#8220;crypto czar&#8221;<\/a> David Sacks. Sacks called the initiative&#8217;s assessment a <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/david-sacks-prioritizes-bitcoin-reserve-assessment\">priority<\/a>, but provided no details.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some experts <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/experts-identify-three-risks-threatening-bitcoins-90000-level\">suggested<\/a> that the administration&#8217;s cautious approach to the crypto reserve could be a factor &#8220;pushing&#8221; bitcoin below $90,000.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Evaluating or studying is what Washington does when it does not intend to address an issue,&#8221; commented Jim Bianco, president and macro strategist at Bianco Research.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In December 2024, Satoshi Action Fund CEO Dennis Porter <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/trump-considers-200-billion-fund-for-bitcoin-acquisition\">promised<\/a> to organize a &#8220;wave of SBR&#8221; at the state level if central authorities do not expedite the initiative.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In January, the largest public American miner, MARA Holdings, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/mara-advocates-for-bitcoin-reserve-across-the-united-states\">joined<\/a> the lobbying for bitcoin reserves in the regions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Relevant bills were <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/us-states-start-a-race-for-bitcoin-reserves\">introduced<\/a> in many states, including Utah, South Dakota, Illinois, Ohio, Arizona, Utah, Texas, and several others. In Montana, Pennsylvania, North and South Dakota, as well as Wyoming, legislative initiatives <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/montana-house-rejects-bitcoin-reserve-bill-2\">failed<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Sygnum&#8217;s calculations, the purchase of the first cryptocurrency for a national bitcoin reserve worth $1 billion would increase the asset&#8217;s capitalization <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sygnum-assesses-impact-of-us-bitcoin-reserve-purchases\">by $20 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, analyst Thomas Farrer predicted a rise in digital gold prices <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/trade-wars-enhance-bitcoins-appeal-say-experts\">by $50,000 per minute<\/a> when U.S. authorities confirm the creation of the SBR.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Arizona Senate has passed a bill on the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) in its third reading with 17 votes in favor and 12 against.
