This would allow for a quicker transition to considering a specific set of <span data-descr=\"Ethereum Improvement Proposal \u2014 \u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u043b\u043e\u0436\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0435 \u043f\u043e \u0443\u043b\u0443\u0447\u0448\u0435\u043d\u0438\u044e Ethereum\" class=\"old_tooltip\">EIP<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>A developer known as Dustin pointed out the inevitable time costs associated with any Ethereum update, due to testing and deployment work. For instance, in a public testnet, an upgrade takes up to three weeks, while its implementation on the mainnet requires at least 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dustin, this does not hinder plans to reduce the frequency of hard forks from a year to six months. However, he believes shorter timelines are unrealistic.<\/p>\n<p>The previous Dencun update in Ethereum was <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-activate-dencun-hard-fork-on-mainnet\">implemented<\/a> in March 2024. The Pectra hard fork, initially <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-targets-march-mainnet-activation-for-pectra\">scheduled<\/a> for early March 2025, is now expected to occur on April 8.
