We&#8217;ve taken a major step forward in our growth strategy as we signed a letter of intent to acquire a majority stake in a cutting-edge 51MW Bitcoin mining facility in Oklahoma, USA.<\/p>\n<p>This strategically located facility provides a reliable 51MW power supply at an\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lJZ2YCovcl\">pic.twitter.com\/lJZ2YCovcl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 BitFuFu (@BitFuFuOfficial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BitFuFuOfficial\/status\/1879874696889716873?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 16, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025 following completion of <span data-descr=\"the process of forming an objective view of an investment target\" class=\"old_tooltip\">due diligence<\/span> and receipt of regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n<p>The site houses air-cooled bitcoin miners and benefits from a competitive power tariff \u2014 an average of $0.03 per kWh.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition will be a key step in advancing our North American expansion strategy and our plan to scale global capacity to 1GW,\u201d said BitFuFu CEO Leo Lu.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitfufu.com\/?utm_source=tt&#038;utm_campaign=gw\">website<\/a>, it currently operates 26.2 EH\/s of hashrate and has access to 556 MW of infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>BitFuFu noted that the facility being acquired is located in an unpopulated area of Oklahoma. Some miners have previously faced problems over noise from data centres.<\/p>\n<p>In Arkansas, GMI Computing faced complaints from residents, and in Texas so did <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/texans-file-lawsuit-against-noisy-mara-mining-facility\">MARA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>US Bitcoin, even before merging with Hut 8, was able to resume operations at a mining facility in New York state only after building a noise barrier.<\/p>\n<p>And in the Norwegian municipality of Hadsel, the community <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/norwegian-town-faces-energy-cost-surge-after-bitcoin-farm-closure\">secured the closure<\/a> of the Stokmarknes Datasenter site. Neither the installation of acoustic screens nor the threat of higher household power tariffs helped.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2024, BitFuFu <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitfufu-to-acquire-80-mw-bitcoin-mining-farm-in-ethiopia\">acquired<\/a> a controlling stake in an 80 W bitcoin farm in Ethiopia.
