More than $855 million was stolen across 65 incidents. Critical code vulnerabilities also remain a problem.<\/p>\n<p>Among the year\u2019s most high-profile incidents, analysts highlighted the May <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dmm-bitcoin-exchange-hacked-for-305-million\">hack<\/a> of the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange DMM Bitcoin. Hackers withdrew 4,502 BTC ($320 million at the time) \u2014 losses were the second largest in the country after the attack on Coincheck. In December, DMM Bitcoin <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dmm-bitcoin-exchange-faces-liquidation-after-major-hack\">announced<\/a> its liquidation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Phishing tactics will undoubtedly evolve in 2025, especially as artificial intelligence develops,&#8221; the CertiK representative added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Snimok-ekrana-2025-01-03-v-16.04.55.webp\" alt=\"Snimok-ekrana-2025-01-03-v-16.04.55\" class=\"wp-image-249093\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: CertiK.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier, Hacken estimated that the Web3 market\u2019s cumulative losses over the past year <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/meme-coin-boom-draws-scammers-to-solana-network-hacken-reports\">exceeded $2.9 billion<\/a>, including damage to DeFi, <span data-descr=\"centralized finance\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CeFi<\/span>-platforms, games and metaverses.
