New applications will not be accepted. <\/p>\n<p>Tether has urged EURT holders to redeem their tokens by November 27, 2025.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cTether has made the difficult decision to delist EURT. However, until a more liberal regulatory framework emerges in Europe\u2014one that promotes innovation, ensures user protection and stability, and minimizes potential systemic risks to the banking sector\u2014the company will focus its efforts on other priority initiatives,\u201d wrote the company&#8217;s CEO Paolo Ardoino.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the EU, the firm will focus on supporting other projects, including the launch of MiCA-compliant stablecoins EURQ and USDQ by Quantoz Payments. The Dutch company uses Tether&#8217;s Hadron platform for asset tokenization.<\/p>\n<p>Promoting this suite of blockchain solutions will become a priority for the USDT issuer in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Back in August, Ardoino called MiCA <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/tether-ceo-criticises-mica-as-a-threat-to-stablecoins-and-banking\">a threat to stablecoins<\/a> and the banking system.<\/p>\n<p>Several exchanges, including Coinbase, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/regulatory-era-eu-to-exclude-stablecoins-south-korea-targets-altcoins\">Uphold<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-to-restrict-access-to-certain-stablecoins-in-the-eu\">Binance<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/okx-to-remove-usdt-trading-pairs-in-europe-reports-suggest\">OKX<\/a>, have announced restrictions on EU clients&#8217; access to unregulated &#8220;stablecoins.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tether will halt support for the euro-pegged stablecoin EURT due to low demand and tightening regulations in the EU.
