This opinion was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/323928\/bitcoin-price-pullback-and-volatility-likely-as-us-election-approaches-standard-chartered-says\">expressed<\/a> by Standard Chartered researcher Jeff Kendrick. <\/p>\n<p>Despite testing levels around $73,500, the leading cryptocurrency has yet to surpass the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/bitcoin\">record high set in March<\/a> above $73,700. <\/p>\n<p>Kendrick believes that pre-election volatility will lead to mass liquidations of positions. In turn, this will reduce the likelihood of reaching a new <span data-descr=\"all-time high\" class=\"old_tooltip\">ATH<\/span>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cThere is a risk of pre-election position closures. This means that on election day, we are more likely to be below the $73,000 mark than above it,\u201d the specialist shared.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pre-Election Uncertainty<\/h2>\n<p>Kendrick added that as November 5 approaches, the seven-day skew of option volatility may rise relative to thirty-day contracts. This indicates increased uncertainty or interest in short-term trades.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cThis is because it will take several days to obtain full results,\u201d the expert explained.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He noted that this situation might resemble the volatility before the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-approves-all-11-spot-bitcoin-etf-applications\">approval of spot ETFs in early January<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The researcher added that options markets can quite accurately assess expected volatility ahead of significant events.<\/p>\n<p>Kendrick also expressed the view that a Republican victory in the US Congress elections could significantly boost Bitcoin \u2014 up to $125,000 by the end of the year \u2014 and trigger an \u201caltcoin season.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cWe believe that a Republican victory will be particularly beneficial for Solana in this context,\u201d the expert concluded.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, analysts from Tyr Capital and Bitget Research also warned of increased volatility following the US elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the days leading up to the US elections, the price of Bitcoin may decline, followed by increased price volatility.
