This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/artificial-intelligence\/openai-co-founder-sutskevers-new-safety-focused-ai-startup-ssi-raises-1-billion-2024-09-04\/\">Reuters<\/a>, citing information from company executives.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be allocated towards developing &#8220;safe artificial intelligence systems that far exceed human capabilities,&#8221; as well as purchasing computing power and hiring staff. The current team consists of 10 people.<\/p>\n<p>The firm will focus on creating a &#8220;small, highly reliable team of researchers and developers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Safe Superintelligence has not disclosed its valuation, but Reuters sources indicated it to be $5 billion. Among the investors are Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, DST Global, SV Angel, and NFDG.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;It is important for us to be surrounded by investors who understand, respect, and support our mission\u2014to pursue safe superintelligence and spend a couple of years on research and product development before bringing it to market,&#8221; noted Safe Superintelligence CEO and former head of AI at Apple, Daniel Gross.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Back in June, Sutskever <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/former-openai-colleague-to-launch-rival-ai-firm\">announced the creation of an AI company<\/a>.
