[\u2026] The increase in losses was mainly due to infrastructure hacks in <span data-descr=\"centralised finance\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CeFi<\/span>, surpassing DeFi, despite fewer incidents in the sector. Robust measures to protect the entire ecosystem are crucial,\u201d stated Immunefi founder and CEO Mitchell Amador.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The largest hack in the past three months was an attack on the Japanese centralised exchange (CEX) DMM Bitcoin, where hackers <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dmm-bitcoin-exchange-hacked-for-305-million\">extracted about $305 million<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXd9XYMsmy9sCxKeVJoEImSaYkmTHhswo4Y0gQH8XPFrJTWcifwTjkCdWmji0nFuuPZMbhgdMBHgt2MHU6acLYhlXMXWHeK86HHElRPxXa5Y38e78j1T7ejyPzY2iZPfBASwv4OHEaNeTrX3NNDSoorMic70?key=Ks5p25louV_rleUac2zZOA\" alt=\"Crypto Project Losses from Hacks and Scams Surge to $572 Million in Q2\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Top 10 hacks by stolen funds. Source: Immunefi.\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following this was an incident with the Turkish CEX BtcTurk ($55 million), an attack on the token vesting platform Hedgey ($44.6 million), and a breach of the British crypto exchange Lykke ($23.6 million).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the two largest incidents accounted for 62.8% of the total losses in Q2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The number of hacks significantly exceeded the number of fraud cases over these three months. The quarter recorded 53 hacking incidents with losses of $564 million and 19 scam events resulting in $8.4 million in losses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The loss ratio between CeFi and DeFi stands at 70% to 30% respectively \u2014 $401 million versus $171 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The most targeted network was Ethereum (34 incidents), followed by BNB Chain (18) \u2014 71% of all incidents this quarter occurred on these two blockchains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXeCCxHm2h_uF5Z_G4iNH0iIu0zAm_YoGk0iQnDVdEKoS7suqydfKIQ50rUa4aRQc5CW2FkENbVg9fJQmN8IdG6JmQgrfHi4UL9zbNEzKHRE5Yal9EEOgNPnz7TmIeoehcFyoqPkNlHKhJWEZe05SCAfeP7u?key=Ks5p25louV_rleUac2zZOA\" alt=\"Crypto Project Losses from Hacks and Scams Surge to $572 Million in Q2\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Number of security incidents in blockchains for Q2.
