This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2024\/06\/14\/nigeria-drops-tax-charges-against-binance-executives-family-spokesperson\/?utm_campaign=coindesk_main&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_content=editorial&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_term=organic\">CoinDesk<\/a>, citing a family spokesperson of one of the individuals involved.<\/p>\n<p>FIRS agreed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-executive-allegedly-flees-nigeria\">tax evasion case<\/a> pertains directly to the trading platform, which will be the sole defendant. A local representative of the exchange is expected to appear in court.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities estimate that Binance earned over $20 billion in 2023 alone but did not pay taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Gambaryan and Anjarwalla remain accused in a money laundering case. A hearing is scheduled for June 19 to discuss the rights of Binance employees. The lawsuit consideration has been postponed <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-executive-contracts-malaria-in-nigeria-court-hearing-postponed-to-june-20\">to June 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gambaryan is still held in Kuje prison. Anjarwalla secretly flew from Nigeria to Kenya at the end of March. However, authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/fugitive-binance-executive-tracked-down-in-kenya\">tracked him down<\/a> there and are preparing extradition.<\/p>\n<p>Nigerian authorities also accuse Binance Holdings Limited of conducting specialized financial activities without a license.
