This was highlighted by the Telegram channel <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/mendeleevshina\/5149\">\u00ab\u041c\u0435\u043d\u0434\u0435\u043b\u0435\u0435\u0432\u0449\u0438\u043d\u0430\u00bb<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, the victim reported the theft of funds totaling 1.1 million rubles (10,910 USDT). The case, citing large-scale fraud, was filed against an &#8220;unidentified person.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>In the complaint, the client stated that the funds were stolen &#8220;by the Beribit exchange from [his] personal trading account.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-text-wrappers-update-2 article_update\"><time class=\"gtb_text-wrappers_update_time\">22 May 2024 | 09:45<\/time><span class=\"gtb_text-wrappers_update_head\">Update: <\/span><\/p>\n<p>A week later, the decision to open a criminal case was revoked as &#8220;unfounded and premature,&#8221; reported the Telegram channel CARTESIUS channel.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"LexagencyLawStream\/1045\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to the document, the investigator did not conduct an objective and thorough review of the complaint. Specifically, it was not determined &#8220;why the applicant was not paid the digital currency, no appropriate request was sent to the organization and the regulatory body, and the exchange employees were not interviewed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The case materials have been sent for additional review to make a lawful decision by 13 June.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers described the incident as &#8220;a common practice for law enforcement agencies.&#8221; They also noted that &#8220;none of the complaints filed in Moscow have progressed further&#8221; \u2014 all resulted in decisions to refuse opening a criminal case, based on civil law relations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, the administration of the trading platform <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/BeribitNews\/647\">announced the resumption of full operations<\/a> from 6 May and continues to report on ongoing payments. <\/p>\n<p>Beribit also <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/BeribitNews\/652\">stated<\/a> that it plans to reimburse part of the funds as <span data-descr=\"digital financial assets\" class=\"old_tooltip\">DFA<\/span> in agreement with users and convert remaining balances into them.<\/p>\n<p>The technical team is working on implementing the necessary functionality on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/raids-conducted-at-moscow-offices-of-bitcoin-exchanges-beribit-and-abcex\">raids were conducted<\/a> at Beribit&#8217;s Moscow offices.<\/p>\n<p>In April, the exchange reported &#8220;technical issues with cryptocurrency withdrawals,&#8221; which were later <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/beribit-clients-report-difficulties-with-cryptocurrency-withdrawals\">explained by a change in management<\/a> and &#8220;discrepancies in reporting&#8221; discovered during the transfer of management documentation.<\/p>\n<p>After a crowd of angry clients gathered at the company&#8217;s office, Beribit promised to &#8220;settle with everyone completely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, ForkLog reported that at least 20 users filed police reports alleging fraud by the platform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Investigators in Khabarovsk initiated a criminal case based on a complaint from a client of the cryptocurrency exchange Beribit.
