The address &#8220;16vRqA&#8221; was credited with the same amount the following day at similar rates.<\/p>\n<p>The outgoing transactions occurred 20 minutes apart. The proximity in dates and times led to speculation that the funds belong to a single user.<\/p>\n<p>One of the transferred sums of 500 BTC has already been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blockchain.com\/explorer\/addresses\/btc\/bc1ptfrdcqngwswahg7a0d6pffdswc0pratmg7yz98u40e2epdppc8pql3k72n\">distributed<\/a> across approximately 200 new addresses.<\/p>\n<p>According to an April <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/old-bitcoin-wallets-keep-waking-131642155.html?guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&#038;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGBVc1KoJvujzsFZp-s_GK71IvBRm8BNp6DkzXS-0h91Ou41RnqU30hR3GV3g5c3tKxEvyl0Q9NsHLF20-sg12jgReB9qw1Dt8roGLG5MoF7PQoZeByqRLQK224CE4oxSsUH5SodR4if393SvukYDLjEsFOsInLKlLzO3HA8HAw7&#038;guccounter=2\">report<\/a> by Chainalysis and Fortune, 1.75 million bitcoin wallets have been inactive for more than 10 years. They hold 1,798,681 BTC (~$121 billion at the time of the report), accounting for 8.5% of the total supply.<\/p>\n<p>This count does not include approximately 30,000 addresses associated with the creator of the first cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto.<\/p>\n<p>However, long-dormant wallets occasionally &#8220;awaken.&#8221; At the end of March, the owner of a 12-year inactive address <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dormant-bitcoin-address-awakens-after-12-years-moves-35-million\">moved all 500 BTC<\/a>, worth nearly $35 million, into smaller deposits.<\/p>\n<p>In April, a wallet inactive for 10 years transferred <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dormant-bitcoin-address-awakens-after-a-decade-moves-17-million\">246 BTC valued at $17 million<\/a>, and another <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dormant-miner-moves-3-3-million-in-bitcoin-after-nearly-14-years\">50 BTC (~$3.3 million)<\/a> began moving after nearly 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>In early May, an unknown whale moved 687.33 BTC ($43.94 million at the time of the transaction), which had also been dormant for 10 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 12, two wallets inactive for over a decade transferred 1,000 BTC (~$61 million) to new addresses.
