It became available at the end of 2023, but shortly thereafter, Google <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/technology\/ai\/google-gemini-update-sundar-pichai-2024\/\">announced<\/a> its transition to Gemini. Code Assist represents both a rebranding of the old tool and a significant update.<\/p>\n<p>The AI model offers a range of unique features:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A context window of a million tokens allows for more information extraction from a query, leading to more accurate code suggestions;<\/li>\n<li>Customization based on the company&#8217;s internal database ensures more precise and relevant bot responses;<\/li>\n<li>Support for GitLab, GitHub, BitBucket, and other similar services;<\/li>\n<li>Partnerships with Stack Overflow, Datadog, Datastax, Elastic, HashiCorp, and others provide access to extensive knowledge bases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cThe update allows clients to make large-scale code changes with AI that were previously impossible,\u201d explained Brad Calder, Vice President and General Manager of Google Cloud.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to Code Assist, Google announced the launch of CodeGemma, a new open model tailored for code creation and assistance.
