This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlnews.com\/articles\/people-culture\/binance-exec-tigran-gambaryan-pleads-not-guilty\/\">DL News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The executive pleaded not guilty and claimed his rights were violated. The defense also argues that he should not be held accountable for Binance&#8217;s operational activities in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/DUNaVjNuKmM2Q86NZzhgoN0l0X-7lF7cvYqr8omnjTBrw9IwYlo0X3ccwKNMv6iYlg7UavCr7di3vStINMMZ2h48f2sVxZms-KGUP5EcB3rKoXtDY7L0jx2H7biwJDUvXQtghY0oOH0p_1VyRGPC7U8\" alt=\"Nigerian Court Detains Binance Executive\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Daily Post Nigeria.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, the court dismissed this argument, recalling Gambaryan&#8217;s educational training sessions for Nigerian officials as a representative of the exchange during past visits.<\/p>\n<p>Following the session, the executive was placed in a high-security detention facility in the capital, Abuja, at least until April 18. A hearing regarding potential bail is scheduled for that date.<\/p>\n<p>The trial concerning Gambaryan and Binance is set for May 2.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Nigerian authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-executive-allegedly-flees-nigeria\">accused<\/a> Binance Holdings Limited, Gambaryan, and Binance&#8217;s Director for West and East Africa, Nadeem Anjarwalla, of tax evasion.<\/p>\n<p>They insist that individuals used the exchange to launder nearly $21.6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Two executives have been <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/wsj-reveals-names-of-binance-employees-detained-in-nigeria\">in custody<\/a> since February 25, although Anjarwalla managed to escape.<\/p>\n<p>Binance has been required to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/nigeria-demands-user-data-from-binance\">data on all Nigerian users<\/a> and their transaction history.
