According to a filing with the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span>, the electric car manufacturer acquired digital gold worth $1.5 billion without specifying the number of coins or the purchase date. By the end of the second quarter of 2022, Tesla had converted approximately 75% of its cryptocurrency into fiat. Throughout 2023, it <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/tesla-maintains-bitcoin-holdings-unchanged-in-2023\">maintained its position<\/a> in the asset.<\/p>\n<p>Arkham Intelligence analysts discovered 68 Bitcoin wallets belonging to Tesla. In total, they hold <a href=\"https:\/\/platform.arkhamintelligence.com\/explorer\/entity\/tesla\">11,509 BTC valued at $779.4 million<\/a> at the time of writing. The unrealized profit amounts to $465 million.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/9rFiZ_9EOjZtPsYZv-hQn8hSytKg1RAWco-TSl6dr572viy6RUZAgPne7YceZzhH0KRY-GC1Bw75GMghT8WfCAMOEmZZAXrhb0aypV6P3KnwHVUohPIzAaWb9w8nJE5IjNx4sej4FPb7XEw1m6STGJg\" alt=\"Arkham Intelligence Reveals Bitcoin Holdings of SpaceX and Tesla\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: Arkham Intelligence.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the spring of 2021, Tesla sold its electric cars for Bitcoin, but later abandoned this option. <\/p>\n<p>SpaceX&#8217;s crypto wallets currently hold <a href=\"https:\/\/platform.arkhamintelligence.com\/explorer\/entity\/spacex\">8,285 BTC valued at over $560.4 million<\/a> at the time of writing. The company owns 28 Bitcoin addresses, according to Arkham Intelligence.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/tZ_BPYTCpU0BSyemq31yPqxFhzMBZBzMBtU_DTDPh6u0k7e3ma2XYTYBAsgojrjT9ef1PaVlDb9lcL1YPPhWaeq94QmaoDWuHugwpm9xBNCHjE6YeYD4NpvLrwvtI3B3SyanfZCJJMfUdDodbfBLTPM\" alt=\"Arkham Intelligence Reveals Bitcoin Holdings of SpaceX and Tesla\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: Arkham Intelligence.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier reports from the <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/220597\/tesla-spacex-bitcoin-wallets-elon-musk-firms-1-3-billion\">media<\/a> indicated that in 2023, SpaceX had to sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin, with some transactions resulting in losses. <\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk himself has repeatedly stated that the first cryptocurrency &#8220;does not occupy his thoughts much,&#8221; and of all coins, he owns only <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cathie-wood-reveals-her-bitcoin-investment-strategy\">&#8220;a large amount of Dogecoin<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>MicroStrategy remains the largest holder of Bitcoin among publicly traded companies, with <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-acquires-3000-btc-for-155-million\">193,000 BTC<\/a> on its balance sheet.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of February, MicroStrategy&#8217;s unrealized Bitcoin gains <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategys-unrealized-bitcoin-gains-surpass-5-billion\">surpassed $5.3 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Analysts at the Arkham Intelligence platform have tracked cryptocurrency wallets belonging to Elon Musk&#8217;s companies, Tesla and SpaceX.
