This decision was made by the High Court of Montenegro, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vijesti.me\/vijesti\/crna-hronika\/697226\/visi-sud-do-kvon-da-bude-izrucen-juznoj-koreji\">Vijesti<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On March 5, the country&#8217;s Court of Appeal overturned the approval for the TFL head&#8217;s extradition to the United States authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, lawyers had succeeded in similar petitions regarding Kwon&#8217;s extradition to judicial authorities in the US and South Korea on December 19 and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/montenegro-delays-do-kwons-extradition-to-the-us\">February 8<\/a> respectively.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/281050\/south-korea-requests-interpol-to-assist-with-do-kwons-extradition-reports\">The Block<\/a>, on March 7, South Korea&#8217;s National Police Agency urged Interpol to assist with Kwon&#8217;s extradition. The agency emphasized that their request was made before that of the US.<\/p>\n<p>However, as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bnnbloomberg.ca\/us-to-contest-do-kwon-extradition-to-south-korea-in-crypto-case-1.2044156\">Bloomberg<\/a>, US prosecutors will continue to seek Kwon&#8217;s extradition.<\/p>\n<p>On March 23, 2023, Montenegrin police arrested Kwon and former Terraform Labs CFO Han Chang-Joon while they attempted to fly from Podgorica airport to Dubai using fake passports.<\/p>\n<p>The arrest was made at the request of law enforcement agencies from the US, South Korea, and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Korean authorities have filed numerous charges against Kwon, including violations of capital markets law.<\/p>\n<p>In the US, he is involved in a fraud case led by the <span data-descr=\"US Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> and the Federal Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in February 2024, Montenegrin law enforcement <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/former-tfl-cfo-extradited-to-south-korea\">handed over<\/a> the former CFO of Terraform Labs to Korean authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs (TFL), is set to be extradited to South Korea.
